The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) at Abdur Rahim College of Pharmacy is a two-year, full-time programme designed for students who wish to build a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences and start a professional career as a registered pharmacist. The course blends classroom learning, industry-oriented training and practical exposure in well-equipped laboratories.

Structured as per the guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and competent state authorities, the D.Pharm programme focuses on core pharmaceutical subjects such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Hospital & Community Pharmacy. Students gain hands-on experience in dispensing, compounding, drug information services and patient counselling, preparing them for responsible roles in healthcare.

Eligibility:

10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent examination in Science stream from a recognized Board/Council with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics, with minimum aggregate marks and other criteria as prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the competent admission authorities in West Bengal for the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) course.

Lateral Entry :

  Successful D.Pharm graduates are generally eligible for lateral entry to the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) programme in the second year, as per prevailing PCI and university norms.

Minimum Duration:

  2 years (exclusive of mandatory practical training/internship requirements, wherever applicable).
